The Internal Pipe Cutter In Detail
Product Description
Our tool is as simple as we could make it to avoid large manufacturing costs and ensure simplicity to the end user, yet so very effective and sturdy.
We have removed the risk of the blade jumping around, causing injury or damage from internal pipe cutting by adding the element of stability. We have done this by making a longer internal pipe cutter, that the end user can actually hold and guide whilst cutting.
We have also removed the risk of dropping the internal cutter down the drain via a loose drill chuck or vibration when in operation by adding the advantage of being able to physically hold the tool itself when in use.
The tool itself is made from mild steel. The external sleeve on our cutter is seperate from the internal shaft. It is held on by a metal ring, that ring secured with a roll pin knocked right through both itself and the internal shaft. The roll pin (once knocked in) finishes flush with the ring for safety, removing the potential to catch on anything.
The internal shaft is fitted into an electric drill chuck at the top end, causing the shaft to rotate when the drill is in operation thus turning the blade fitted on the opposite end of the internal shaft.
The external sleeve is held by the operator to guide the tool in the desired direction when cutting, removing the problem and danger found with current internal cutters on the market of the blade being uncontrollable jumping around when in use. This issue is something that in my 9-10 years of plumbing I found to be very frustrating and unsettling.
An Allen key screw firmly holds the factory made washer and blade onto the bottom of the internal shaft.
There are also two engineered flat spots located near the blade end for a spanner to attach. This is to hold the shaft still tightly when removing the Allen key screw, allowing the user to change the blade with ease.
Maintenance
Very little maintenance is required when it comes to caring for your Turners Tools Internal Pipe cutter. A few drops of oil or a spray with WD-40/CRC before each use is all that is needed. The blades are hard wearing diamond blades so do not need to be replaced very often. The reusable plastic tube is great for storage of the tool to keep it safe and scuff free from rolling around in the tool bag.
Uses
Internal PVC pipe cutting Tile grout removal.
